Ace Metaphor has a video that is floating around Facebook that is called “Narcissists Prey on Good Girls.”

I don’t agree with this video at all. Here is why.

A narcissist can take advantage of anyone. It has nothing to do with being a “good girl,” or a female for that matter. Narcissists prey on 30% of women and 20% of men.

As someone who has been through it and out the other side and done thousands of hours of research. Here is what I know to be true.

Anyone Is Vulnerable to a Narcissist

Narcissists take advantage of:

• Our need for love and connection (every human on the planet needs this)
• Our belief that everyone is good at their core
• The level of trust we automatically imbue our husband/wife/parter in life with

Once you are “in it” you become addicted to them (the trauma bond). You will often hear someone involved in an abusive relationship say, “But they have such a nice side.”

This is because their brain is so confused about the person that they fell in love with (Jekyll), and the person that their partner truly is (Hyde).

It’s a Jekyll and Hyde thing. It’s a serotonin -cortisol thing.

It’s not a “good girl” thing. Or a girl that “wears their heart on their sleeve” thing. Or solely an empath thing. Or even strictly a female thing. It’s an anyone thing. Anyone can fall victim to a narcissist, psychopath or sociopath. It’s what they do. It’s how they survive.
